Office Update.
Okay, my last journal got toasted when I acidentally deleted a file I wasn't supposed to, so all of my office details disappeared. Here they are again:
For the last week and a half, I have been looking around for some office space for my fledgling company. I have been to four Yaletown, one Crosstown (Beatty Street, near BCPlace) and two Gastown office spaces. There were a few good-looking offices in that group, but two really stood out in my mind.
The first one was a place that we had tried to visit twice before, and they had stood us up. My Realtor had some harsh words, and this time they were available. It is exposed brick and cedar beam...a very nice office. The ceiling was pretty darn low though, and the air conditioner for the building is right above the door to the office. It isn't too loud, but it feels like you are on a BC Ferry.
The other location (my choice) is in a little courtyard called "The Mews" in Gastown, right next to the Irish Heather, a fine little pub. It is on the top floor of a 4-storey heritage building with a really nice feel to it. Same brick-and-beam thing going with 3 fairly large offices. I really liked it a lot.
As for putting bids in, I think we are going to hold off for a while. We sat with our Accountant yesterday, and after some number-crunching, we decided that we couldn't justify the cost right away. Soon...yes, but not this month.
The good news is that the Gastown establishment doesn't come available until January 2001 anyway, so we may be able to do something for January.
We'll see.
